what we do - faa medical services

FAA PILOT FLIGHT PHYSICALS

As a Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), Dr. Sherman is authorized by the FAA to perform First, Second, and Third Class Medical Examinations.  He is dedicated to helping you obtain and maintain your medical certification to fly.  Dr Sherman understands that often your career and livelihood depend upon your continued medical certification, and his 20+ years as an AME  allow him to better understand and navigate this often complex area of Aviation Medicine.

FAA Special Issuance Matters

Sometimes, an applicant may not be able to meet the standards set by the FAA for medical certification.  However, there is definitely hope:  The FAA will often consider allowing an airman to be certificated under what is known as a Special Issuance. Dr. Sherman has many patients with Special Issuance certificates, and he is in constant contact with both the FAA Regional Flight Surgeon, as well as the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI) in Oklahoma City to coordinate and resolve these matters.
